Holidays, Travel, and Moving Forward
Dear BHRSD Community,
As we approach this holiday season, I’d like to share a few reminders.
Please remember how excited we all are, the students, staff, parents and administrators that our schools are open. Our collective goal is to keep it this way. Our best approach is to support each other with known preventative measures. This is particularly important at the Omicron variant becomes more pervasive.
These measures include masking, vaccines, and when applicable booster shots.
Here’s a summary of our vaccination rates:
Students in grades 7-12 — 85%
Students in grades K-6 — 50%
High School athletes — individual teams range from 100% to 75% with an average above 90%.
I hope to share information about more vaccination clinics shortly.
Many of us may be deciding on how to celebrate with our loved ones. We hope everyone enjoys this special time.
Some families have asked if there are testing requirements necessary in the event you were to travel domestically or internationally. Testing is not required for arrival back to school. Individuals are encouraged to follow the recommended travel guidelines set by the CDC.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
Best wishes for a joyous and restful break and time with family.
Peter Dillon, Superintendent
