Dear BHRSD Families,
As we conclude the second week of school, I’m reaching out to share some updates.
Thanks for your patience with arrival and dismissal. Our process seems to be working pretty well now. We will continue to figure out ways to make it better.
You may have noticed that Mass DOT is doing some work on the side of Route 7 by our greenhouse. This is part of a project to widen the road, create some space between the North bound lane and the turning lane, and install an early conflict warning system to make it safer to enter and exit the high school.
We have filed all our applications to start pool and rapid testing with the State and their vendor CIC. We are waiting on them for next steps. We expect we will start weekly testing Thursday September 16th.
Please use this LINK for more details and to complete the electronic consent form. Each student in your household will require an individual consent. The link defaults to Muddy Brook. Select the drop down for your child’s school — Muddy Brook, Du Bois, or Monument Mountain. One last update. At its 9/9/2021 meeting, the school committee voted unanimously to support my recommendation to mandate that students participate in weekly school based Covid-19 testing to be able to engage in extracurricular activities.
This means that families need to consent to regular school based testing for students to be able to participate in extracurricular activities (athletics, clubs, programs, etc.).
The intent of this mandate is to support the health and safety of our school community along with masking and vaccinations for eligible students and all staff.
If you have questions, please reach out to me.
Peter Dillon, Superintendent
